PTFE Sheet Slides Effortlessly From Frying Pan to Industrial Wear Surface

While attempting to make a new chlorofluorocarbon refrigerant, PTFE was accidentally discovered in 1938 by chemist Roy Plunkett. Plunkett was a Dupont Chemist at the time of the discovery. Dupont trade named the new material Teflon®.
